Well ladies, the seasons have very definitely changed, darker evenings are here and there's no more denying that we're now heading into the last few months of 2011... which can only mean one thing!

Yes!  The Autumn / Winter 2011 collection is here at Sisley Cornwall and we are also welcoming a new Face of Sisley Cornwall to model it too!

Here is your first glimpse of the photos from the latest Sisley Cornwall shoot and I'm sure you'll agree Megan looks fabulous!

It was a fantastic day spent with a truly exceptional team made up with Lee Maddocks on Hair and Makeup and renowned Photographer Kirstin Prisk working his usual magic!

I have to say I'm delighted with the results and I can't wait to see what the website looks like after it's makeover!

I'd just like to take this opportunity to thanks the lovely Sadie Hodges for flying the flag for us for the last few months and for so graciously handing over her 'crown' and also to the wonderful Megan Roberts for representing Sisley Cornwall style in such a graceful and fresh way!

After much deliberation, Veronique and the team have finally chosen a winner of the Face of Sisley Cornwall competition.

We are delighted to introduce you to Megan Roberts!

Megan has been modelling on and off since her early teens and has always enjoyed being in front of a camera.

Megan has experience in fashion, wedding couture and runway but so far has been most successful in alternative fashion modelling. A former "living dead girl" and winner of last year's "Miss Alternative Cornwall", Megan enjoys being as versatile as possible. Megan currently models frequently for 'Lady Allura's Latex' and 'Lady Hollywood'

Megan has also been performing since childhood, singing, acting and composing. She has been in many bands, performing Jazz, Metal and even Classical music. She also works as a session musician, performing  and recording music written by others. She is currently preparing for her solo European tour going ahead this winter and has recently been contracted to write the music for a feature length film. 

We caught up with Megan to ask her what she felt about being chosen as the new Face of Sisley Cornwall.  Here's what she had to say:

"So far the majority of my modelling work has been Alternative fashion, I'm so excited to have this opportunity to expand my horizons and model Sisley's wonderful pieces. I have been an admirer of Sisley's clothing since stumbling upon their website last year and I couldn't have hoped for a better way to make my 'High Fashion' debut!"

We'll keep you posted with news of the shoot!  Expect some stunning shots of our new collection being modelled, very capably by the lovely Megan!

We got in touch with February's Face Of Sisley Cornwall winner Sadie Hodgson and asked her a few questions about entering and eventually winning the competition! And she also tells us about what has happened since........

'I Heard about the competition through Veronique herself on facebook! She invited me to enter and I was rather excited about the idea. My mum persuaded me to go for it, she said you have nothing to lose and it will be a good experience! The instore event was such a great day, everyone was suprisingly friendly and overall it was loads of fun! I didnt expect to win at all or even get as far as the actual event so when it was announced I was the winner I was absolutly chuffed! My mum went straight out and got a bottle of champagne to celebrate. The photo shoot itself was amazing, Kirstin, Suzi and Nina put me at ease and I felt very comfortable with them. We went to some really cool locations, and I loved the whole day, I really enjoyed it and wanted to do more! Since being the face of Sisley Cornwall I had been contacted by a few photographers wanting to work with me which has really upped my confidence and ive gained alot from it! I still shop at sisley as I love their clothes (and cowboy boots which I havent taken off since! Ha) I cant wait to come and have a look at the new A/W collection! If anyones wondering wether to enter or not I would say definatly do it! You have nothing to lose and It is great fun! The new sisley competition app is sweet and looks very cool too! As you may have seen on Facebook we have once again launched a competition to find the next face of Sisley Cornwall!

We are looking for another stylish and sassy lady to to represent Sisley Cornwall's latest collection.

The winner will be featured on our website and they'll also win a professional photo shoot with renowned photographer Kirstin Prisk with professional hair and make up.  All the photos from the shoot will be given to the winner for her portfolio and she will also be given £100 worth of clothes from Sisley Cornwall!

If you have some modelling experience or you're a budding model just waiting to be discovered, this could be a great opportunity for you!

All you need to do to enter the competition is visit our Facebook Fanpage (make sure you click the "like" button if you haven't already) and click the link to our brand new Facebook App where you will find an entry form. Just pop in your details and upload a photo (or 3!), it's that simple!

Make sure you invite all your friends to "Like" Sisley Cornwall so that they can then vote for you!

The Falmouth branch of Sisley Cornwall is owned and managed by Veronique Eastham. Veronique talks to Cornwall Life about the autumn collection, key fashions and the company’s style.

What are the trends for the autumn 2011 season?

For the coming season, I have bought a lot of gorgeous knitwear. I went to Venice for Sisley’s fashion show and saw some fabulous pieces. There was a big emphasis on a mixture of textures, leather and fine knits or silk for example.

This creates a dramatic effect and is very on trend.

Tell us a bit about Sisley

The brand originally started in Paris in the late 1960s. However, in the mid 1970s a global Italian company bought it and started to develop the brand as we now know it. Every season, Sisley produces a collection, which usually includes sporty and casual wear and formal and elegant dresses, offering something for every moment in the day and individual tastes.

The collections are always up-to-date, right down to the details, combining a refined style with no overstatements.

 What are the latest colour trends?

For the winter, the colours tend to be darker: charcoal grey and black are always present. However, I always include strong accent colours. This year it will be peacock blue, touches of orange and also quite a lot of red. A mixture of very dark navy, red and camel has also appeared – beautiful!

What item do you predict to be your biggest seller this season and why?

There are many items that I am sure are winners. Nevertheless, there is one dress in particular which stands out in my mind. It is of fine-knit jersey and very fitted, very sexy, yet easy to wear, with the sleeves in silk satin in beautiful colours. It’s absolutely gorgeous and timeless.

A killer coat. After all, it is what people see when you are walking down the street.

A little black dress, a fitted denim jacket, a crop leather black jacket, a beautiful white shirt, a great pair of jeans and some smart heels.

Well ladies, it feels a little like summer hasn't even arrived yet and it will soon be time for me to start bringing in the next season's collection!

Anyway - all this cold weather has made me start thinking more about the new collection... which despite the fact that it will certainly be a little cooler at that time of year - will STILL, I'm certain, turn up the heat!

I went to venice for Sisley's fashion show and saw some fabulous pieces and I bought in some really gorgeous knitwear that I know you're going to love.

There is a big emphasis on mixing textures (leather and fine knits or silk and leather) this coming season - it's going to be fun!

On Sunday Sisley Cornwall went all pink and bashful... well... not very bashful... but VERY pink in support of a wonderful local mum and breast cancer survivor!

The wonderful Sally Hicks-Wood started the Race for Life at 11am on Sunday morning and asked as many shops in Falmouth as possible to 'go pink' to mark the ocassion.

1,475 women made their way along on the 5km route from Gyllyngvase Beach Car Park along to seafront to raise money for research into cancer and we were delighted to support her by turning the shop PINK!!!

Here are our lovely mannequins proudly displaying their very pink wigs (rather fetching don't you think?) in readiness for a big PINK WIGS night out on Saturday which we're really looking forward to!

Are you going too?

Sally who is a mum of two, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. She found a lump purely by chance, had it checked and tests revealed she had aggressive cancer that had spread to all her lymph nodes.

She had a mastectomy followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy as well as Herceptin infusions for a year and feels that research into cancer is what saved her life.  This is why she is so passionate about supporting the Race for Life!

Sally said: “I feel so lucky to have survived breast cancer and this year is such a special year for me. I turn 50 in June, my wonderful son gets married in August and my daughter starts university, and my husband Colin is taking me on a Caribbean cruise with my best friend of 35 years Kim and her husband Steve.

What an incredible lady you are Sally!  Sisley Cornwall are PROUD to support you and all the women who ran the Race for Life!

So... Kate's big day is nearly here and I can hardly wait to see what she's going to be wearing.  I can only imagine how stunning she's going to look... and that got me thinking.  What am I going to wear for the Royal Wedding?

Ok, so I know I'm not actually invited to the wedding per se but I will be celebrating it and 'in attendance' with the rest of the UK, and indeed, the world(!) so it's only right I make an effort right?

I've been rifling through my Sisley Collection and I think I've picked the perfect outfit for me... but what about you?

What are you wearing for one of the biggest weddings we're likely to see in this lifetime?

Well... I've got a few suggestions!  

The only tricky thing about Sisley Cornwall clothes is that, at a wedding, you need to try not to outshine the bride... and our clothes tend to make you stand out and shine like a star... but I'm sure Kate won't mind us stealing a little of her limelight!

Come and see me and we'll make sure YOU too look fit for a King!

Well folks, it was a long time to wait but the photoshoot has finally happened and I am absolutely DELIGHTED with the results.

Sadie was fantastic and we got some absolutely stunning shots of her wearing the new collection!

Just take a look for yourself!

Here Sadie is wearing one of my favourite pieces, the high waisted skirt which I have to say ladies, makes the female form look absolutely fabulous.  Come in and try it for yourself, you won't believe it!

And here she is again in the most gorgeous black lace dress on the planet.  Full stop!  Honestly, this dress has been flying off the hangers already and as the weather starts to get brighter I'm pretty sure they'll be going even quicker soon!  If you want to look as stunning as Sadie does in this shot - come and see us! :)

And this is I think my favourite shot!  The stunning Marilyn Monroe style dress, the beautiful little heart bag and that blue sky and yellow field... summers coming, there's no denying it!

Well the judging panel have had a difficult few days since the semi final of the 'Face of Sisley Cornwall' competition!

The three girls who made it into the final - Sophie, Amy and Sadie are all so gorgeous and perfect to represent the Sisley Cornwall brand in their own ways so we had a really tough time choosing between them.

There were many different things to take into consideration when we were deciding on a winner and right up to the end the panel (including our very own Sharron Davies (tv personality and athlete), Michelle Holmes (our Social Media Consultant), Nina Prisk (ex Sisley Cornwall model) and myself have been debating over who should win the title.  We've been split right down the middle, we've changed our minds, gone back to the drawing board... slept on it... and finally we have come to a decision.

We are delighted to announce that the new Face of Sisley Cornwall for the Spring Summer 2011 collection is:

Well, today was a truly amazing day. Our 6 lovely semi finalists became live mannequins modelling the new collection in the shop window of Sisley Cornwall between 12 – 2pm today and people came in their hundreds to vote!

It was quite an incredible thing to witness.   The girls all managed to look beautiful as they braved the cold weather to give out Sisley Cornwall chocolates to the good people of Falmouth and to ask them to cast their votes inside the shop.

At one point, as a photographer from the Falmouth Packet took photographs of the line up in the middle of Church Street a local policeman even offered to stop the traffic for us so that we could take a few more!

I know that lots of you have been waiting with baited breath for the results from today so I won’t keep you any longer except to say – THANK YOU to all the girls who took part today.  You were all absolutely wonderful and did yourselves proud.

This competition has been such a success that we will be repeating it for each new collection (every 6 months) so please do enter again if you were not successful this time.  You are all winners in my eyes.

I received this email today and I thought I'd share it with you!  I think it probably sums up the way most of us are feeling at the start of 2011!  Enjoy!

T'was the month after Christmas, 
and all through the house, 
Nothing would fit me, 
not even a blouse. 

The cookies I'd nibbled, 
the chocolate I'd taste 
At the holiday parties 
had gone to my waist. 

When I got on the scales 
there arose such a number! 
When I walked to the store 
(less a walk than a lumber), 

I'd remember the marvellous meals I'd prepared; 
The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared, 
The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese 
And the way I'd never said, "No thank you, please." 

As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt 
And prepared once again to do battle with dirt... 
I said to myself, as I only can, 
"You can't spend a winter, disguised as a man!" 

So, away with the last of the sour cream dip. 
Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip. 
Every last bit of food that I like must be banished 
Till all the additional ounces have vanished. 

I won't have a cookie, not even a lick. 
I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick. 
I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie. 
I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry. 

I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore... 
But isn't that what January is for? 
Unable to giggle, no longer a riot.

We're looking for someone fresh and funky to front Sisley Cornwall's new collection.  

The winner will be featured on our website and they'll also win a professional photo shoot with renowned photographer Kirstin Prisk, professional hair and make up by Suzi Winter.  All the photos from the shoot will be given to the winner for her portfolio and she will also be given £100 worth of clothes from Sisley Cornwall!

Here we are at the end of another year and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your custom during 2010! 

It has been a wonderful year for Sisley Cornwall, I've had the opportunity to meet lots of lovely people, many of whom have become dear friends and I am looking forward to meeting many more of you (and making even more friends) in 2011!

Fashion wise this year has been all about the Military look, worker boots, military jackets, a touch of the nautical thrown in for good measure, lots of romance and glamour... and those wet look leggins of course!  

2011 is set to knock your socks off, especially here at Sisley Cornwall where we've got some really beautiful clothes up our sleeves!

I can hardly wait to share with you the new collections in the year to come but for now, I'd just like to wish you all a fantastic evening tonight (make sure you hit that party looking a million dollars!  I know many of you will be looking stunning because you bought your New Years outfit at Sisley Cornwall!) Maybe you'll be wearing the dress in the picture tonight?  If you are, prepare to dazzle!

Well ladies, Christmas has been and gone and what better time to start thinking about a fresh start for the New Year?

At the beginning of a New Year I always get the urge, not only to commit to a whole host of resolutions that will improve my life in some way but also to revamp my wardrobe so I can start the year as I mean to go on... in style!  And this year is no exception...

Whatever your New Years resolutions are, your wardrobe will either help or hinder you. Just a few key pieces of clothing can increase your self confidence hugely, give you that boost you need to achieve more in life or help you include some luxury in your day.

As some of you may already know, I recently travelled to Venice to view the new 2011 collection for Sisley Cornwall.

I was invited to Castrette – an absolutely enormous factory where all the clothing for the Benetton group is born.

I was so excited as I walked into this giant warehouse, the atmosphere was electric with the anticipation of hundreds of people who had travelled from all over the world (including Luciano Benetton himself) to be at the unveiling of the new collection.

This collection is called “Passport to the Future” and the theme for the show was air travel. 

Behind the catwalk there were two large departure boards and when the show began the catwalk lit up like a runway.  Even my ticket to the event was designed like a boarding pass!  It was fantastic!

One by one the models began to parade up and down the catwalk in some stunning clothes (I just can’t wait to unveil them in the shop, you are going to love them!)  

Being a fashion show some of them were more “works of art” than clothing we would wear day to day but they received lots of cheers and applause from the audience as they were just so breathtaking!  I tried to take a few pictures which I’ve included in a video you’ll find on my Facebook page but they just don’t do them justice I’m afraid. 

After the catwalk show was over there were some speeches by some of the Designers – these were all in Italian so I really had to concentrate to understand what was going on but they were basically talking with great excitement about the future of the company and how it was so important that they continue to deliver wonderful designs at great prices.

I then got the opportunity to see the designs up close and personal.  Models stood on pedestals around the room so that you could view the way the clothing looked when worn and in front of each of them was a rail of garments that belonged to that “Story”.

This is one of my favourite parts of these shows because you get to feel the clothes and start to think about customers who they would really suit.  I had quite a few of you in mind as I walked around viewing the designs!  I took a few photographs and decided mentally which pieces I would be bringing back to Sisley Cornwall...

While I was looking at the designs we were served some incredible food... from the trays you get your food on during a flight!  They really had gone all out with the airport theme (except the food was a million miles away from the usual cuisine served on board a plane)!

I’m currently in London buying the clothes I saw at the show and I’m getting more and more excited about showing them to you!  The new collection is full of edgy, up to the minute designs that you won’t find everywhere.  I just know that you are going to feel really special wearing these clothes so I’m really excited about being able to bring them to Sisley Cornwall for you!
